PACAYA SUNRISE HIKE

Even though this is the smaller volcano, it doesn't mean it is less fun. This magical sunrise trek is full of 

hype, magma flows, sedimented lava fields, stunning sunrise views and depending on the night a sky filled with millions of stars. We have chosen to take on this volcano at 3am so you get the best out of it by skipping the crowds of hundreds of people on the day visits and also the heat that can hit this magma fields during mid day. So you will be amongst the 10 people we can take on a daily basis for this beautiful and easy one hour hike.

ITINERARY

  • 02:00 Pick up at your location and departure

  • 03:45 Start Hiking

  • 04:45 Arrival at magma fields

  • 05:30 Mirador for sunrise

  • 06:00 Light breakfast with coffee

  • 07:00 Begin descent 

  • 09:30 Arriva in Antigua

WHAT'S INCLUDED

If you are traveling light, or don't have the necessary gear; we've got you cover. All the essential gear for the hike is included. Plus you get access to other rental gear that you might want in addition.

All the food is included for the average appetite. In our efforts to support environment friendly practices and feed you with the right nutrients for this hike we have elaborated a mostly plant based meal plan.

Things to do for better acclimatization

  • Stay well hydrated the day before

  • Avoid food that could make your stomach upset

  • Rest well (try an avoid staying up late partying)

  • Storage room: feel free to leave your belongings at the agency if needed

  • Shower, we have great showers at the agency you can use. We only ask for a small donation of $1-$2 for the animal shelter we support

  • If you don't have toilet paper, feel free to grab from the bathrooms with a small  O.25¢ < + donation
